My research investigates the development of diabetes and factors that lead to complications and comorbidities. My work addresses basic mechanisms in physiopathology of diabetes to discover new therapeutic targets to lower disease burden. Targets from evidence-based research are taken forward with industrial and clinical partners in the field of diabetes.
